Snail meat is a popular delicacy enjoyed by many families in Nigeria. It can be used in soups, stews and sauces. It can also be eaten alone as an appetizer. Snail Kebab or peppered snail would definitely get your taste buds watering. It can be served as a special treat to the entire family.
You should also know that snails have high nutritional value. Study has found that it is a tasty source of iron. They also come loaded with high protein. If you are on a diet snail is the meat to go for as they contain low fat while it enriches your health with calcium, magnesium and vitamin A.

Cooked and served in a thick spicy sauce, Isiewu is an authentic Eastern Nigeria dish (Igbo). A real favorite amongst Nigerians and certainty not for the faint-hearted as the heat from the large amount of chillies used is enough to take your palate off.

Nkwobi is a classic and very popular delicacy originating from the South-Eastern region in Nigeria. Made with cow-leg cooked and smothered in thick sauce, it is one of the many culinary delights to be derived from Igbo origins. More of an appetizer and served on its own, Nkwobi has become a favorite part of the menu when eating out in “traditional” restaurants both home and Abroad.
